Platt Family Essay Contest
This scholarship was established in memory of Chuck Platt, co-founder and longtime Treasurer of The Lincoln Forum, and sponsor of its annual Platt Family Lincoln Essay Contest for college students. Designed for full-time, undergraduate students in an American college or university, recipients are chosen by the Scholarship Committee of The Lincoln Forum based on their submitted essay.
Frank J. Williams Student Scholarship
The Lincoln Forum Student Scholarships program recognizes outstanding elementary and high school students who have demonstrated academic and extracurricular excellence as well as an interest in the life and career of Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War. A few students from across the country will be selected to attend the annual meeting of the Lincoln Forum, to be held in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, each November.
Virginia Williams Teacher Scholarship
Each November, The Lincoln Forum awards three scholarships to educators currently teaching Social Studies in an elementary, middle, or high school in the United States. Teachers of other curricular areas will be considered if they can demonstrate how their work connects with the study of Abraham Lincoln.
Franklin-Medford Scholarship
In 2021, a Lincoln Forum member generously created a scholarship to encourage diversity at the Forum’s annual symposium. Named in honor of the great historians John Hope Franklin and Edna Greene Medford, the scholarship is open to students of color who are full-time undergraduates or graduate students. One student enrolled at a college or university in the U.S. will be selected to attend the annual meeting of the Lincoln Forum, to be held in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, each November.
